Our end-to-end networking solutions, coupled with our portfolio of wired, fiber and wireless products, allow Allied Telesis to deliver networks and of all shapes and sizes to meet the demands of the most stringent educational need.

So much so, that Allied Telesis are now ready to launch the Allied Telesis Academy. The aim of this program is to provide the necessary training to support the relevant skill sets of tomorrow’s network specialist.

The Allied Telesis Academy is a global training program for network and internet technologies providing online teaching materials and support tools for training in network technologies. These training materials are specifically aimed at teachers and students.

Allied Telesis has developed the teaching program based on a theoretical and practical foundation, using case studies and validation of teaching outcomes. It covers networks and the internet in general, and is not devoted solely to Allied Telesis products. Nourished by our experience with Major accounts from large companies and operators, it is practical in design, for students who will be our future experts, and for the company's own needs.

This program aims to teach students to design, install and maintain network solutions, as well as enabling teachers to further develop and update their own knowledge of networking.

Program objectives

This program offers generic training in network technology, not just for Allied Telesis products. Objectives include:

• Encouraging development and support in the latest, advanced, non-proprietary technologies.
• Training architects and network operators in the skills of tomorrow.
• Enables teachers and students to have direct contact with the world of business.
• Helping those returning to work and career changers through certification programs.

Program contents

Online course materials

Allied Telesis Academy offers two types of training, one for teachers and students, and one for LAN training and Operator training. The courses consist of hardware platforms with course materials available online, as well as supporting tools for implementation and case studies.

The teaching kits for each module consist of:

• A "Student" booklet with practical work
• A "Teacher's" booklet with corrections for practical work
• A "Correction" booklet, with corrected practical work, verification of information gained and help with commands
• A "Teacher's" Powerpoint presentation for theory coursework

Teaching kits

The technical datasheets will contain the list of hardware needed to set up the practical work for each kit, as well as the content of the training provided (chapters and sections):

• LAN KIT : consists of a Layer 2 and 3 controllable switching solutions, managing all levels of the OSI model.
